Insurance Coverage

I currently accept Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Humana, UGA Student Resource, and Medicare for individual clients only and work with many other insurance providers out of network. Counseling appointments may be covered in part or in full by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please note, I do not file insurance claims for couples therapy sessions, where the primary client is the couple and their relational distress. I am happy to talk about this further with you.

Please check your coverage carefully before requesting an appointment by asking your insurance provider the following questions:

• Do I have mental health insurance benefits as part of my plan coverage?
• What is my deductible and has it been met? Do mental health benefits fall under the deductible?
• How many sessions per year does my health insurance allow?
• What is the coverage amount per therapy session? What is my financial responsibility, i.e., do I have a copay or coinsurance amount I must pay for each session?

Having these questions answered can remove some of the uncertainty about the cost of therapy. I find this can help ease some anxiety when concerns about affordability are present.

Counseling Private Fees

Private fees for individual therapy sessions are $150 for the first session and $125 for each additional 55 minute session. Couples/Family sessions are $150 for the first session and $135 for each additional 55 minute session.

Fee Reduction

If you are unable to use insurance to pay for counseling and there is significant financial need, we may be able to negotiate a reduced fee that will work for both of us. We will be able to discuss this before scheduling a first appointment.

Consultation/Supervision Fees

Supervision or consultation sessions for professionals seeking their clinical license or those seeking post-licensure consultation are $85 for a 1-hour meeting for individuals. If two professionals participate, the rate is $65/person (This would still be considered individual supervision for LCSW licensure).

Payment

Cash, Check, and Credit Card payments through PayPal are accepted and due at the time of your visit.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel within less than 24 hours of your scheduled appointment or miss you appointment entirely, you will be charged the full session fee of $150-135, even if you are using insurance to pay for all or a portion of your therapy sessions. Insurance cannot be billed for missed appointments.
